James D. Wehr
President & Chief Executive Officer, The Phoenix Companies, Inc.

Jim Wehr is president and chief executive officer of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. He was appointed in April 2009 after serving as senior executive vice president and chief investment officer.

Mr. Wehr joined Phoenix in 1981 and held a series of increasingly senior investment positions, including credit research, trading and portfolio management. As chief investment officer, Mr. Wehr oversaw the life insurance company's general account and affiliated investment portfolios, directed the public fixed income group, and managed institutional client portfolios.

Currently, he serves on the boards of the Greater Hartford YMCA, the Eastern Connecticut Healthcare Network, Inc. and the Back9 Network.

Mr. Wehr has a bachelor's degree from Fairfield University and a master of business administration from the University of Connecticut.
